πͺΆ Prologue: Whispers of the Death Curse
The portals blaze to life once more. The Guild awakens, disoriented, scattered, their memories fractured by battle and betrayal. Echoes of Hallastar Darkcloak’s laughter still cling to their thoughts like oil on water.
Then, the light fractures.
When their vision clears, the familiar walls of the Guildhall are gone. In their place: a choking jungle under a blood-orange sky. The air hums with the static of ancient magic. Every vine trembles, every leaf whispers a warning.
They have arrived in Chult, land of ruins, serpents, and restless dead.
And somewhere, deep beneath its roots, stirs a power long forgotten.
A name spoken in trembling tones:
Acererak.
The Demilich. The Devourer of Souls.
Architect of the Tomb of the Nine Gods.
⚙️ Challenge One: The Dead End Dungeon
The adventurers awaken inside a narrow, stone-walled chamber slick with moss.
Behind them an enormous Stone Juggernaut, silent but stirring. Ahead: corridors crawling with skeletal guardians, their hollow eyes burning green.
One of them bears a key. The only key.
They have twenty minutes to claim it and escape before the juggernaut thunders to life and grinds them into dust.
And in Chult, death isn’t permanent. Each slain skeleton rolls a d4… and rises again.
π·️ Challenge Two: The Vrock Demon Lord
The heroes burst into the open air, a clearing under an obsidian sky. Lightning lashes the treetops as a Vrock Demon descends from the heavens, flanked by his N’Kara Saurial birds.
Its screech shatters the stillness.
To survive, the Guild must fell the beast and pluck a single feather from its infernal wings the key to pass through the Skull Gate that lies beyond. The feather contains the name needed to pass through.
Only the correct name will open the way.
πΏ Challenge Three: The Village of Nani Pupu
Beyond the gate lies a village in ruin. Huts burn. Screams pierce the smoke. Reptilian horrors and maddened Vegepygmies prowl among the corpses.
The Guild intervenes, cutting through the infestation. When the final creature falls, they meet the village’s last hope, the chieftainess Nani Pupu, pragmatic and wise, her eyes reflecting ages of loss.
She knows of the Death Curse, and the god who feeds upon it.
π Challenge Four: The Twin Trials of Nani Pupu
To earn her blessing, Nani Pupu divides the Guild:
Team One must infiltrate Ras Nsi’s fortress to recover Kappalui, the living totem and heart of the village.
Team Two must purge the Mushroom Grove, seized by a deranged Vegepygmy Chieftain and his fungal horde.
Those who succeed gain her trust, the village’s blessing, and Nani Pupu’s Healing Surge, a boon said to grant life even in the jaws of death.
π¦ Challenge Five: The Jungle Path
Guided by a lone scout, the Guild ventures deeper into the wild. The jungle grows darker, the air thicker, until the path splits beneath a canopy of thunder...
The battle is far from over. In the next Adventure the Heroes find themselves at the entrance...the entrance to the Tomb of the Nine Gods.
