The Big Screen: What to watch this September

Planning on heading on returning to the Cinemas but feeling a bit apprehensive during this current COVID-19 delta variant scourge? Rest assured! Ster Kinekor has enforced strict Covid protocols to ensure your health and safety. The kind and friendly staff were helpful and welcoming to assure us that the cinemas are regularly cleaned and touch points sanitized and the maximum occupancy within cinemas have been greatly reduced (for our family of 4 we were allocated 8 seats). For further information, head on over to the Ster Kinekor website. Due to the current economic uncertainty brought on by the pandemic, Ster Kinekor has entered into a voluntary business rescue. As we inch towards becoming fully vaccinated, let's all try to bring back the magic of the movies and support our local cinemas!

Here's lifeofUz's top pics for what to watch at the movies this September:

Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.
With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 92%, the 29th MCU film installment is looking to burn the charts and judging by the awesome 'everybody was kung-fu fighting trailer', looks another hit for the Marvel MCU!
Book your tickets here.

Escape Room 2: Tournament of Champions

Six people unwittingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive. Joining forces with two of the original survivors, they soon discover they've all played the game before.
We really enjoyed the first movie. It was thrilling, nail-biting suspense right through and this sequel looks terrifyingly wicked!

Reminiscence

Nick Bannister, a private investigator of the mind, navigates the alluring world of the past when his life is changed by new client Mae. A simple case becomes an obsession after she disappears and he fights to learn the truth about her.
I don't really care much for critics and reviews.  The dystopian, seabound version of Miami positively bursts with neo noir vibrance. An intriguing storyline and amazing score makes this a really fantastic movie.

Jungle Cruise

Based on Disneyland's theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles but with a supernatural element.
This was one fun rollercoaster of a ride for the whole family! Think "The Mummy" but set in the dense lush Amazon jungles.

Free Guy

A bank teller discovers that he's actually an NPC inside a brutal, open world video game.
What would happen if you mushed Wreck it Ralph with The Matrix and Deadpool and the Lego Movie into one? You get this, crazy, hilarious totally wacked movie. Definitely worth the laughs.

Candyman

A sequel to the horror film Candyman (1992) that returns to the now-gentrified Chicago neighborhood where the legend began.
The original Candyman scared the pants off me. If you like jumpy scares, this sequel expands on the Candyman mythology and takes us back to where it all began. Just don't say his name 5 times!!!
