📜 The Briefing

"In the darkness, a king weeps in stone. In the fire, a shadow grows bold. And you? You’re late for a rescue mission."

The Underdark stirs once more. Whispers carry news of a terror long feared but never faced — Durin’s Bane, a towering shadow wrapped in fire, whose very presence melts stone and hope alike.

And now, the beloved King Baeron Ironcloak lies prisoner in its molten depths. The last true ruler of the Seven Holds. The only dwarf alive who still knows the secret recipe for Mountain Goat Curry™. Both the crown and the cuisine hang in the balance.

If the Bane consumes him, dwarves lose more than their king. They lose their heritage. Their spice rack. Their soul.

🪓 The Quest

Your mission is clear: Rescue the King, stop the Bane, and maybe pocket some loot along the way.

• Fight through a savage Orc warband led by Kraash the Furious and his rebellious son Smaash.

• Meet Gribnob the Loyal, goblin informant, monocle enthusiast, and part-time motivational speaker.

• Choose your path wisely:
  • Seek the Scroll of Displacement, guarded by the dragon Shimmergloom.
  • Or unearth the Hammer of Hjjalminor, hidden in the Drow Queen’s lair.

• Converge at the Throne Room, where King Baeron lies petrified in stone.

• Face Durin’s Bane in the volcanic depths. Beware: when the monster’s health is halved, the King awakens with dwarf-boosting buffs.

🏅 Renown & Rewards

Heroes stand to earn bonus renown (and bragging rights) for:

• Defeating mini-bosses (Kraash, Smaash, Shimmergloom, Drow Queen).

• Pulling off stylish combos, clever tactics, or ridiculous battle cries.

• Committing fully to dwarf-or-orc roleplay. (Accents, grudges, beard-stroking contests all encouraged.)

Standard Renown applies for showing up, completing the mission, roleplaying, and the Curator’s wildcards. But double gems lie in wait for those who dare the Bane.

⚔️ Character Calling

Players are encouraged (but not forced) to pick Dwarf or Orc heroes for maximum hilarity and synergy. Bonus points if you arrive already grumbling.
