☠️ The Ballad o’ the Bloody Brawl ☠️
☠️ The Ballad o’ the Bloody Brawl
☠️
(as told in the Guildhall tavern by a suspiciously tipsy
pirate)
“Gather ‘round, ye sorry lot, and wet yer ears, fer I be
tellin’ ye the tale o’ the Bloody Brawl o’ Adventure Four-Point-Two - a
clash o’ monsters, mind-flayers, and portals that bled more sparks than a keg
full o’ powder, savvy?”
⚔️ The Field Be Set
The Ember Portal Crew (once called Team A) faced off
‘gainst the Arcane Portal Corsairs (formerly Team B). Each side had
their fortifications, skull gates, and beasties ready. Aye, even traps waitin’
like sharks beneath calm waters.
The Arcane lads rolled a tidy 19 on the d20 fer
monster shiftin’, while the Ember dogs only managed a 10. Seemed fortune
favored Arcane’s hand… but fortune be a fickle wench, eh?
And aye. Team Arcane even summoned forth a beast foul and
squelchin’, the dreaded Ottyugh, what stank o’ rot and ruin.
🧠 The Schemin’ Mind
One hour into the fray, the Ember Crew struck clever. They
scraped up enough monster blood and experience to call forth a villain most
devious: the Mind Flayer. Now, by house decree, monsters o’
brains can act as heroes in the villain phase. Aye, and a mind-flayer be
brainier than a scholar stuffed with books.
So, instead o’ just revivin’ beasties like some necromantic
cook, the Flayer hatched a darker scheme.
🏴☠️ Lady Darkwater’s
Gambit
Enter Shakeel’s Lady Darkwater Pirate, grinnin’ wider
than the horizon. With her cursed trick: “Abandon Ship”; she whisked her
crew across the seas o’ the dungeon. In one foul sweep, she, the dwarf Pyromaniac
Alliieries (Charl), Rivani the Human Psychic (Ejaaz), and the bloody Mind
Flayer itself appeared square beside the Arcane Portal.
Ejaaz conjured his displacer beast, Charl belched out holy
fire, Lady Darkwater unleashed her fury and the Flayer’s tentacles lashed with
vengeance.
The Arcane Portal’s guardian, the mighty Dracolich,
roared to the skies and met ‘em head-on, fangs, frost, and fury. But even that
scaled corpse-lord could not stem the tide. The Ember Crew battered the Arcane
Portal with powers daily and devastating, dealin’ near eight wounds a turn.
Team Arcane called for parly. Team Ember said nay!
💥 The End o’ the Arcane
Portal
Per agreement, the first portal to crumble marked the
victor. With smoke, sparks, and a rumble like thunder, the Arcane Portal
collapsed, handin’ the Ember Crew the day.
The tavern roared louder than a broadsides volley, and mugs
o’ ale sloshed like the tide in a storm.
📜 Renown Standings
Now, fer the reckonin’ o’ glory, savvy?
- Arcane
Portal Corsairs (Team B):
+2 Renown each fer showin’ up and completin’ the mission.
+1 bonus Renown (3 Guild War objectives).
= 3 Renown per player - Ember
Portal Crew (Team A):
+3 Renown each fer showin’ up, completin’ the mission, and fine teamwork.
+2 bonus Renown (4 Guild War objectives).
= 5 Renown per player - Shakeel
(Lady Darkwater Pirate):
An extra +1 Heroic Renown fer his wild, suicidal, and frankly brilliant “Abandon Ship” gambit.
🍻 Final Words
“So there ye have it, mates. The Bloody Brawl writ in sweat,
fire, and folly. The Ember dogs took the prize, the Arcane lads fought like
devils, and one mad pirate made sure this tale’ll be sung long after our mugs
be emptied.
Now, why’s the rum gone savvy?
Told poorly but loudly, by a bard who smells suspiciously
of rum. 🏴☠️
