Dungeons & Dragons Board Games: The Lord of the Rings Special Part 2

With the hype around Amazon Prime's Lord of the Rings series trending worldwide and the premier just a few days away, I thought it fun to incorporate a Lord of the Rings theme into our Friday evening D&D gaming session.

We're going to be playing a light and causal adventure from the standard Dungeons and Dragons board games and I wanted to give my players the option of choosing between two wacky adventures. The first one is based off of The Hobbit movies and uses the components from the Wrath of Ashardalon Board Game and the one listed below uses the components from The Legend of Drizzt Board Game and is based off of the Fellowship of the Ring movie.

Warning: The below custom adventure has mature themes and is not suitable for minors.

Adventure 2: The Fellowship Of The Ring

"Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men, doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie."

When You Start The Adventure, Read:

The world is changed. I feel it in my fingers. I feel it in my toes. I smell with my nose. I write cool prose. It began with the forging of the great Rings. Three were given to the Elves who generally behaved themselves, Seven to the Dwarf lords, who, being great miners and craftsmen, bid them on E-Bay where they sold for a pretty penny.
And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who had no fucking clue as to what to do with them but kept them in mint condition in unopened boxes in a prized vault in North Korea.

But there were, all of them, deceived, for another ring was made.

In the land of Boredorm, in the fires of mount Doom, the Dark Lord Snoron forged in secret a Master Ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured his cruelty, his penis and his will to dominate all who sought out his special services on the dark web.

One Ring to rule them all!

But alas, one night of frivolous and raucous debauchery and the ring got stuck and Snoron's chief lieutenant, the Balor Errtu Cocaroth, castrated his master and swallowed the ring. Driven mad by the ring's power Cocaroth fled deep into the depths of the earth where the ring burned his insides and his bowel movements were never quite the same after. Henceforth he was named Errtu Cocaring the Suffering, the Balor of the Deep.
Years passed. Myth turned to legend, legend to mist, condensation to cloud, evaporation to precipitation and monkeypox and rumor spread of a tremor in the deep darks depths of the earth. The rumor became a trend, the trend became viral and soon developed into a household meme where it was picked up by the most unlikely of people - Dildo Baggins, a blogger. But the Balor Cocaring seized Dildo and took him deep inside the deep crevices and caverns of Khazad Bhum. And so, an unlikely fellowship of Man, Elf, Dwarf, Ranger, Wizard and Halfling have now banded together to venture into Khazad Bhum to rescue Dildo and put an end to the menacing threat of Errtu Cocaring once and for all!
