Here's lifeofUz's Couch Stream for what to watch at home this August:

Only Murders In The Building Season 3
Hulu, Disney+

Three strangers - who live in the same New York City apartment building and share an obsession with true crime - suddenly find themselves embroiled in a murder.

Definitely my most anticipated series for August, Only Murders In The Building is sharp, witty and at times, slapstick funny. The antics of the magical trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez are simply delightful in their investigative podcast. Don't miss it!

Ahsoka
Disney+

After the fall of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Rosario Dawson gets the spotlight as everyone's favorite Jedi-Padawan-Now-Master returns along with many familiar Rebel faces to face a new threat in the Galaxy. As a huge fan of both the Clone Wars and the Star Wars Rebels animated series, I am super amped for this. The Star Wars series' on Disney+ have had a lot more hits and very little misses - something the Marvel Universe needs to take heed of.

One Piece
Netflix

In a seafaring world, a young pirate captain sets out with his crew to attain the title of Pirate King, and to discover the mythical treasure known as 'One Piece.'

Another live adaptation of a beloved anime. Well, Cowboy Bebop was not a bad adaptation. It was never really ever as good as the OG but it was still watchable, despite all the naysayers. Let's hope that this series does the original anime justice. From the trailer it looks wonky good!

Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 2
Amazon

A prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series, the show follows the crew of the USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike.

I have to admit, I have not yet seen Strange New Worlds but have heard only excellent feedback and seen great reviews about it. With Picard completely wrapped up (and what an awesome series that was), I need something to tweak my inner trekkie and keep me boldly going and this might just be it.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3
Disney+

Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own - a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful.

The latest MCU big-screen drop onto Disney+ is also one of the finest movies to round up a perfect trilogy. There's a damn good reason why Guardians is my favorite of all the Marvel movies and, like Vols 1 and 2, the 3rd installment is jaw-droppingly awesome. It nails the humor, the tension, the feels and the nostalgia. James Gunn is a legend in bringing together this rag-tag bunch of space-faring heroes in a movie that punches you right in the gut. I didn't just cry, I bawled. Like a baby racoon. Fantastic!

Pro-tip: Watch the Guardians Holiday Special first before this!

The Bear Season 2
Hulu, Disney+

A young chef from the fine dining world returns to Chicago to run his family's sandwich shop.

I dunno much about it except it's cheffy and I like foody things. Plus that omelette is worth the try.

Secret Invasion
Disney+

Fury and Talos try to stop the Skrulls who have infiltrated the highest spheres of the Marvel Universe.

Okay, so I watched the first 2 episodes. Then dragged through the remainder. I mean, I'm not expecting it to be a 100% faithful adaptation of the comic book Secret Invasion event. That was way better in terms of the storyline conceived by legendary scribe Brian Bendis and, no, I'm not expecting it to have that same level of tension and jaw-dropping moments of absolute 'what the actual f' but...but...at the very least, make it an MCU series. Not just Nick Fury and one or two MCU cameos. Make it count. The freaking Skrulls have infilitrated everywhere....everywhere AND everyone. So, Marvel - you had one chance to not fuck it up and you did. Sadly, you did. Watch this if you're a fan of shitty writing.

The Invitation
Netflix

A young woman is courted and swept off her feet, only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot.

A good spooky thriller-ish date movie. That's really all I can say.

Heart of Stone
Netflix

An intelligence operative for a shadowy global peacekeeping agency races to stop a hacker from stealing its most valuable and dangerous weapon.

Your typical Netflix action fanfare in the same vein as Old Guard, Extraction, Kate, Red Notice, The Gray Man, Interception etc. But I'm a sucker for Action movies so this will definitely be on my watch list.
