1. Eternals
The saga of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations.
Marvel's latest offering is a tribute to the days of Jack Kirby and his cosmic works involving the Celestials, the immortal race of Eternals and their enemies, the Deviants. I gotta be honest. I was really surprised that Marvel would attempt to make a movie as bold as The Eternals which basically features heroes nobody is really familiar with. The MCU, despite having quite a few cosmic entries (Guardians, Captain Marvel, Infinity War) has been fairly grounded for the most part. Eternals will be an interesting take for the MCU.
2. Ghostbusters: Afterlife
When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.
Who ya'll gonna call?!!! The one movie I am super amped for this November has got to be Ghostbusters: Afterlife. From this blog along you would know of my crazy obsession with 80s pop culture and movies and, given that Afterlife is directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan Reitman who directed the originals; features a stellar cast including cameos by both Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd and an intriguing storyline AND AND mini stay puft Marshmallow men AND AND AND Ecto 1 AND AND AND....
Just go see it man. Trust me on this.
3. Encanto
A young Colombian girl has to face the frustration of being the only member of her family without magical powers.
Disney's latest animated offering is a musical comedy that's all heart. The trailer is positively bursting with color and upbeat music as well as generous lashings of magic and fantasy. Perfect for the whole family.
4. Last Night In Soho
An aspiring fashion designer is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something darker.
Stylish and slick meets spooky and sinister in this dark thriller by Edgar Wright. The film flips between two timelines taking us from now back to the glamorous 60s with a plot full of intrigue coupled with a dreamy, hypnotic ghost story.
5. Liquorice Pizza
The story of Alana Kane and Gary Valentine growing up, running around and going through the treacherous navigation of first love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973.
That 70s show gets artsy with this love story that has a lot of nostalgic feels going for it. Be sure to grow your 'stach for Movember, slip on your bell bottoms and get into your groove!
6. Demonic
A young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades-old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed.
Director Neil Blomkamp of Elysium and District 9 fame brings a supernatural scifi thriller that looks pretty slick and has some vague resemblance to 2000s The Cell.
