The Small Screen: What to watch this November

Looking for that one new series to binge? Or maybe just a cozy movie night in? We got you covered with these awesome Movember offerings on the small screen. Pop some corn and settle in!

Netflix

1. Army of Thieves

A prequel, set before the events of Army of the Dead, which focuses on German safecracker Ludwig Dieter leading a group of aspiring thieves on a top secret heist during the early stages of the zombie apocalypse.

Ranked hot on Netflix is Zac Snyder's prequel to the ever popular Army of the Dead. This time the focus is on the eccentric safecracker Ludwig Dieter as he attempts the greatest heist of all time: cracking Hans Wagner's Ring of the Nibelung - Four legendary safes based on Richard Wagner's opera masterpieces.

2. Masters of the Universe Revelations Part 2

The war for Eternia begins again in what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor. A new animated series from writer-director Kevin Smith.

Next up is Kevin Smith's animated mini series Masters of the Universe: Revelations. Gotta admit, this show has the interwebs polarized. You either like it or hate it with those vehemently opposing it with the argument of there being 'too little He-Man' in the show. Well, from the part 2 trailer, there's a lot of He-Man and a lot more Teela too. I totally loved the first part and am ready for my Saturday morning cereal bowl binge watching.

3. Cowboy Bebop

The space Western story follows Spike Spiegel and his rag-tag crew of bounty hunters, or Cowboys, as they try to capture the galaxy's worst criminals and survive the unexpected dangers they encounter throughout space, sometimes saving the world in the process but always leaving millions in damages.—deadline.

I'm super excited for the love action version of the ever popular space western anime. The trailer looks stunning and has all the right jazzy notes. Definitely on my watch list this November!

4. The Movies That Made Us

The histories of classic popular movies are examined.

Some new movies were added recently - ever wondered how Aliens was made? Or Robocop? This is one docu-series that will make you take a step back next time you are re-watching one of your classics and appreciate all the effort that went into making the movies that made us.

5. Arcane

The delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. Tensions between these city-states boil over with the creation of hextech a way for any person to control magical energy in Piltover, and in Zaun, a new drug called shimmer transforms humans into monsters. The rivalry between the cities splits families and friends as Arcane brings life to the relationships that shape some of League of Legends' famous champions including Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce and Viktor.

6. Hellbound

A story about otherworldly beings who appear out of nowhere to issue a decree and condemn individuals to hell. These supernatural events cause great mayhem and enable the religious group The New Truth to grow in influence. A few people, however, become suspicious about its activities and begin investigating its involvement in mysterious events.

7. Love Hard

An LA girl, unlucky in love, falls for an East Coast guy on a dating app and decides to surprise him for the holidays, only to discover that she's been catfished. This lighthearted romantic comedy chronicles her attempt to reel in love.

8. The Harder They Fall

When outlaw Nat Love discovers that his enemy Rufus Buck is being released from prison he rounds up his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge. Those riding with him in this assured, righteously new school Western include his former love Stagecoach Mary, his right and left hand men hot-tempered Bill Pickett and fast drawing Jim Beckwourth and a surprising adversary-turned-ally. Rufus Buck has his own fearsome crew, including "Treacherous" Trudy Smith and Cherokee Bill, and they are not a group that knows how to lose.

9. Red Notice

When an Interpol-issued Red Notice the highest level warrant to hunt and capture the world's most wanted goes out, the FBI's top profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) is on the case. His global pursuit finds him smack dab in the middle of a daring heist where he's forced to partner with the world's greatest art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) in order to catch the world's most wanted art thief, "The Bishop" (Gal Gadot). The high-flying adventure that ensues takes the trio around the world, across the dance floor, trapped in a secluded prison, into the jungle and, worst of all for them, constantly into each other's company.—Netflix

Disney

1. Beatles: Get Back (3 part)

Documentary about the music group The Beatles featuring in-studio footage that was shot in early 1969 for the 1970 feature film 'Let It Be.'

You wouldn't want to miss this 3 parter by legendary director Peter Jackson. Trust me.

2. Hawkeye Ep 1 & 2

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton's past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Marvel's latest MCU series offering has all the festive cheer along with glorious explosions, Jeremy Renner and lots of arrows. Worth checking out.

Amazon Prime

1. Wheel of Time

Set in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it, a woman named Moiraine crosses paths with five young men and women. This sparks a dangerous, world-spanning journey. Based on the book series by Robert Jordan.

It's being tagged as 'the next Game of Thrones'. The Wheel of Time books were great reads back in the day, filled with rich mythology, high fantasy and long, long, loooong histories. So there's a LOT of substance here - let's hope it carries through. The trailer looks promising though.

2. Doctor Sleep

Years following the events of The Shining (1980), a now-adult Dan Torrance must protect a young girl with similar powers from a cult known as The True Knot, who prey on children with powers to remain immortal.
