Board Game Designers Charged with Stealing $300,000 Worth of Magic: The Gathering Cards at Gen Con.

Two board game designers, Thomas Dunbar and Andrew Giaume, have been charged with stealing approximately $300,000 worth of Magic: The Gathering cards from a vendor at Gen Con's tabletop convention. The theft was captured on security footage as they took boxes of booster packs and transported them out of the convention center. New York State Police eventually recovered the stolen goods, and if found guilty, the designers could face up to six years in prison and fines up to $10,000. They were identified partly due to their registration as exhibitors, although they changed their names after the alleged theft.
