Movies Roundup - October 2023

Abba: The Movie - Fan Event

Captured by director Lasse Hallström during their 1970s Australian tour, the newly remastered film offers a disco-infused journey into ABBA's heyday. It features backstage moments and full-length performances of hits like "Dancing Queen" and "Waterloo." The subplot adopts a mockumentary style, following a country radio DJ's comical quest to interview the band amid hilarious mishaps. This fan event includes extras like insights from ABBA: Voyage creators and glimpses of ABBA The Museum. Plus, enjoy lyric videos, rare behind-the-scenes footage from the 1977 tour prep, and more. Relive the disco era when ABBA reigned supreme in this nostalgic remastered film.

The Exorcist: Believer

Sequel to the 1973 film about a 12-year-old girl who is possessed by a mysterious demonic entity, forcing her mother to seek the help of two priests to save her.

Ah, creepy pastas are what the Halloween month is all about and this sequel looks right up there along with all the terribly scary schlock fests. This movie looks right about scaaary!

57 Seconds

When a tech blogger lands an interview with a tech guru and stops an attack on him, he finds a mysterious ring that takes him back 57 seconds into the past.

Time travel but in a "minute-to-win-it" window with Morgan Freeman and Josh Hutcherson in what looks like a slick, explosive sci-fi thriller.

Cat Person

When Margot, a college sophomore goes on a date with the older Robert, she finds that IRL Robert doesn't live up to the Robert she has been flirting with over texts. A razor-sharp exploration of the horrors of dating.

A provocative and creepy thriller about the perils of dating someone that well...lies about having cats. Huh? Still, if scary stalker types are you thing then watch this?

Killers of the Flower Moon

Members of the Osage tribe in the United States are murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s, sparking a major F.B.I. investigation involving J. Edgar Hoover.

Scorsese is definitely chasing awards with this riveting portrayal of the Osage tribe murders in the 1920s. Wealth from Oil is the key of this story as deep dive into one of the darkest chapters of American history highlighting issues of greed, racism, exploitation, wealth and power. Leo De Caprio and De Niro take center stage in what looks to be an Oscar-worthy contender. 

Five Nights At Freddy's

A troubled security guard begins working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. During his first night on the job, he realizes that the night shift won't be so easy to get through. Pretty soon he will unveil what actually happened at Freddy's.

Josh Hutcherson is popular this month and his second movie on the list looks cooky, creepy and downright crazy! Definitely a must-watch for horror fans.

Trolls Band Together

Poppy discovers that Branch was once part of a boy band, BroZone, with his brothers: Floyd, John Dory, Spruce, and Clay. But when Floyd is kidnapped, Branch and Poppy embark on a journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd.

Something for the young and young at heart and those who love animated sing-alongs. With some amazing voice talents including Camila Cabello, Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick, you know you want to watch this. Come on, you know you do!
